I feel the need.... the need for speed.....

Great day of SG skiing

22nd August 2011 at 09:47PM

We got a little bit shafted yesterday when the lift on our SG training piste stopped working..... The lifts are a little old school here so that was a bit annoying. Anyway, today went really well, we can keep the pistes for much longer on the weekdays so we managed a few warm-up SG runs, then 5 runs in the first course, a re-set and another 3 in the second course - all before 11am (just).

Some good skiing going on, especially by Emily-i don't like speed-Evans who clocked some good times in the first course and a very positive day for Imi too. We have also seen big steps forward from Thomasine Nilson-Wrede and Alex Buchanan in just a few days and also a blistering time from Ellie in the second course. Kieran and Oli are getting cleaner and faster with almost every run too.... and last but not least Roy and Luke who are setting the times for everyone to chase. Roy looks a little like Dougy Crawford from the British Team when in full suit (Head skis, same catsuit/helmet) so Roy sent Dougy down one run to clock a time..... i assumed it was my brilliant coaching that gave Roy his best time..... but it wasn't even him.

Sorry no pics today (except the one below of Roy on his fastest run) - was busy setting, re-setting, slipping, filming and all that jazz, i was thinking to whack another sun-set one up but they're all pretty similar (amazing but similar).

Onto GS tomorrow, then the races! Races have been re-arranged due to weather coming in so we have a GS Wednesday followed by SG and then Slalom in the storm on Friday. Good for us as we are looking a little better in GS and SG to slalom currently.

Adios Amigo's.
